Get in Touch

Trimbakeshwar Mandir is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the town of Trimbak, near Nashik, Maharashtra, India. The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India, which are considered the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. The lingam (symbol of Lord Shiva) in the temple is believed to be self-manifested (swayambhu). The temple has a rich history that dates back to ancient times, with several renovations and additions over the years. It is believed that the original temple was built by a sage named Gautama Rishi. The temple is associated with several legends and myths, including the story of Gautama Rishi, who is believed to have prayed to Lord Shiva to bring the river Ganges to earth. Lord Shiva granted his wish and brought the Ganges to earth in the form of the Godavari River, which flows near the temple. The temple follows the Nagara style of architecture, with a tall tower and intricate carvings. The temple complex also has several smaller shrines and a large courtyard. The temple follows elaborate rituals and ceremonies, particularly during festivals like Mahashivratri and Shravan month. The Triambakeshwar Fair is a major festival celebrated in Trimbak during the Mahashivratri festival, attracting thousands of devotees from all over India. The festival is marked by a grand procession of Lord Shiva's lingam from the temple to the nearby Kushavarta Kund, and devotees visit the temple to offer their prayers and seek blessings. The temple is located near the Kushavarta Kund, which is considered to be one of the most sacred bathing spots in Trimbak. Devotees take a dip in the Kund before visiting the temple. Overall, Trimbakeshwar Mandir is an important cultural and religious site in India, attracting millions of visitors every year. The temple's rich history, unique architecture, and elaborate rituals make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Hinduism and Indian culture.
