Do's
- Officially, there is no dress code applied in the Meenakshi Amman Temple. But, to respect the traditions, one is encouraged to wear traditional Indian dresses. It is preferred that women should wear a saree or salwar-kurta-dupatta and men should wear a kurta or shirt with dhoti or pajamas.
- Mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple. There is a dedicated place to deposit your phone in a locker before you enter the main temple.
- Remove your shoes before entering the Temple. The same place which has a locker for phones also has a place to deposit your shoes.
- There is a security frisking before you enter the temple. Please maintain a proper queue and keep patience.
- You can carry your purse, wallet, and other essentials like masks, hand sanitizer, etc with you inside the temple.
Don'ts
- Photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple.
- Do not touch the deities or their ornaments unless explicitly allowed.
