Brihadeeswara Mandir, also known as the Peruvudaiyar Kovil, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. Do's
  • The temple authority specifies no dress code. Wear light and comfortable clothes or do wear South-Indian cultural attire.
  • Keep your shoe and belongings outside before entering the temple. A clock room is available near the entrance.
  • Carry your water bottle if you visit the temple during summer.
  • Visit the temple early in the morning or in the late afternoon to avoid the scorching heat.
Don'ts
  • Cameras and mobiles are allowed inside the temple. But photography is not allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum.
  • Avoid touching idols, deity, or religious artifacts without permission. Seek guidance from temple staff or priests if you have questions.
